Camping Areas

Relax amidst the nature of Cerro Castillo National Park .

Cerro Castillo National Park has designated camping areas on the Las Horquetas circuit and other trails.

These areas are equipped with designated sites, picnic tables, and latrines, and are designed to protect native vegetation and wildlife. Camping outside these areas is prohibited to preserve this unique ecosystem.

Rio Turbio Camp

Nestled in a lenga forest, it's the perfect place to rest on the first day of the Las Horquetas Traverse. It offers a chance to appreciate the retreating glaciers and the new vegetation in the valley.

The Forest Camp

Renovated since 2018, it is located in a pristine setting next to the El Bosque stream. It has tables and a quiet area for small groups.

Porters Camp

Established in 2005 by local porters, it's now an official riverside site. It's a small space with little protection from the wind, but a good base for connecting to the New Zealand camp.

New Zealand Camp

One of the most renowned. Close to Valle Parada, it offers panoramic views of the Cordón Castillo mountain range. The weather can be adverse even in summer, but it can accommodate large groups.

Camping is only permitted in designated areas.

Take your trash with you and respect the designated restrooms.

Do not light fires outside of designated areas.

Respect wildlife: do not feed or disturb animals.
